Megha was born in the foothills of Mata Vaishno Devi, Katra, Jammu & Kashmir, and studied in a boarding school in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, in India. Her childhood was spent entirely in the Himalayas amongst strong Himalayan women, the impact of which she carried with her wherever she went. Graduating in law from Delhi, she went on to do her Master’s from Kings College London. She practiced at the Supreme Court of India for a decade, after which she moved to the US. Compelled by a strong need to give back to her fellow Himalayan women, she started Giri Foundation in early 2020 as she was familiar with the probems faced by the women in the mountains, and the opportunities and support they need to solve these problems.
Megha is an avid photographer and her prints are available in our online store to raise funds for Giri Foundation
